(I need to remember a good friend of 12 years in the Army. SSG. Don N. Davis was example of a soldier who stood tall and never complains. We need to remember him and all our soldiers who died fighting for the USA. Lets pray for the children who won’t have a mother or father who gave it all for us to enjoy our life and be free.)
“Soldier, soldier can’t you see? What this Army is doing to me.”
We stand together. All the NCO ( Non commission officers) collecting money and putting it into a card. A soldier has bad luck and we gather together with a smile and do what we must. Taking care of our soldier.
“We are Bravo company. Marching down the Avenue. Two more years we be through. I will be glad and so will you.”
SSG. Davis invited me over for a holiday meal. I told him I would be fine. Don’t worry. He would smile and told me. “I will come and find you.” I went to his house and received a good meal and I spend time with my family. Soldiers taking care of soldiers.
“Ain’t no use in going home. Jody took your girl and gone.”
When a soldier has bad luck. We stand together. My friend came home from a deployment. His wife and kids were gone. He came to my house. I told him we will go to the Headquarters and I will help you find your kids.
Soldiers goal leave no-one behind. Soldiers are brothers. Not always love is shared. Fists are tossed on occasion. In the end we will stand back to back in a fight.
Old First Sgt. called me into his tent. He asked me to read a letter. His wife told him not to come home. We sat together and I listen. We cried together. Heartbreaks are many. Soldiers will stand together.
Just a prayer for friends who never made it home. Miss you my good friends. You fought the good fight. I will ensure your children know how much you loved them. I hope you found a better place my friends.
I’m a Veteran. We are 50 million strong. It is time we ensure every soldier gets his due. It is time we don’t accept lousy excuses when a Government can give 600 Billion to the private sector.
All soldier from WW2 to present need a place for medical care for body and mind.
Remember those soldier. If you see one walking by. Thank him or her for their service.
Remember Freedom isn’t free.
