What men are capable of…
What men are capable of…
A Poem by Coyote Poetry
I saw bad things in my life. What men have done for their hate.
What legacy will we leave?
I hope no more then we were
the one’s who stood by and
allowed the Wars and disease
to deteriorate the dreams
of our children.
I stood by a river in Bosnia.
Dead bodies floating in the current.
Killed for sake of religion.
As I pulled the bodies out.
I was sickened by the deeds of men.
I felt so cold.
Were the Angels watching?
Waiting with open arms for the innocent?
Who is crying for them?
No-one is speaking out for the people in the way
of the war machine and violence.
Men who speak of tales of fabled bogey men.
The profiteer and big business using lobbyist
to keep war coming.
We need to be identify and put them out of business.
Using young men and woman to fight for oil and land…
Life is simple.
Treat people how you desire to be treated.
Religion should be personal.
I don’t believe the common man and woman would desire war
before peace talks.
I never met a woman or
man who desire to die.
Never met a Mother or Father who wanted their child
to die in War.
The profiteer and big business hide behind false words and tales
to create the ability to get richer.
What men are capable of?
The great men of peace are rarely heard today;
Block out by stories of ghosts and demons by leaders with
pocket full of lobbyist money.
Cities and towns are now war grounds.
No safe place for the innocent.
Can we stop the terror and violence?
I have stacked the bodies of the innocent.
Just old men and woman.
I pray to the Spirit of the earth, sky and water .
Take care of these poor people.
Please give them peace with you.
Is the world is past the healing point;
Too late for the sheep being led to slaughter.
Who will cry out then?
Too late for the babies being born to chaos and War;
Their dreams and hope.
Cut-off by the hunger and greed of War?

Bad part. The good people of our world had accepted violence and war as a norm. Thank you for the many comments. I do appreciate.

Poignant words! Very powerful! The future is very sad. Although I think things are going to get worse I have hope that it will eventually get better. I believe that out of the bad, good can still arise. Let us hope humanity as a whole comes to the truth that harmony and cooperation is the only way we and the world are going to survive.

And still we make war and war machines, we feed the hunger of Manifest Destiny that is the core of the European mindset.

Hard to understand logic of this world. President live like a King when his world is falling apart. Trillions spend on war and new tech for war. Now we can send machines into cities to kill. In the middle nineties. A good President send my unit on water and food missions three times. His goodwill open the door to conversation and allowed other organization to go to dangerous places. Manifest Destiny can backfire on the powerful nations. Sometime the sheep can turn into the wolves. Thank you for the comment.

I pray that the great men are not all gone, John, their tongues cut out.
60,000, now confirmed in Syria, killed violently, when they could have as easily been fed…
Something is coming, I think by Spring and I fear it’s going to be hungry when it arrives!

Civil wars are everywhere. Poor children and woman are in the way of war. Africa is doing the same. Less concern for Africa for some reason? Countries are taking the gold and minerals from their neighbors. Killing the people in the way. World is in chaos and no-one know how to stop it. Thank you for the comment. I pray for better days.

I fear Europe wants Africa for itself, like in the old days, an escape clause if you will, a retirement plan and they won’t have to fire a shot, just sit back and do nothing…

Indeed..men have done and are doing misdeeds.. making humanity suffer and destroying peace. Who will cry ? How long? Who will try to stop before everything is gone .

I may not if cried for them then, but I grieve for all of us now. But WE must become the change we want to see…one by one…

You are correct. The meek and the quiet people must raise up to demand change. Look what the women in India are doing. Government fear mass demonstrations and because of the poor woman rape and death. They will change a large country thoughts on rape. Look at the writer’s and musicians of the past. Someone had to voice their objection against war and hate. Thank you for the comment.

I was on a United nation mission when my team of Soldiers found the bodies. Bosnia was a nasty situation. We were in a middle of a civil war based on religion. Hard for us Soldiers to understand why you would kill old men, woman and children. People believe the problems are worst today. Man had been foolish for a long time. Same things happening. Just different locations. Thank you for the comment.

I’ve always had deep sad feelings about war, you put my feeling into words beautifully. I often wonder what God must think of us and how sad he must be the bear the pain of so many. I pray for our world to stop the nonsense of war and enter into a more enlightened time of peace and forgiving.
