“Everybody knows”
Everybody knows
(I will never understand why you would burn down your own city. If you are pissed off. Demonstrate. Government fear when the people gather as one. Violence gives the government reasons to pass the blame.)
A Poem by Coyote Poetry
Sometime we need to learn emotion and feelings
from people who lived a long life.)”Everybody knows”
Mr. President.
Did you see the riots in Baltimore? The world is going mad.
Poor people making minimum wage won’t be giving lunch money
to their kids.
Will be eating ramen noodles for lunch at work.
Must decide to fill gas tank or pay bills?
“Poor cities in the USA are getting the left over.”
Do you give a shit?
The bloody rich are getting richer and the poor are getting poorer.
Gas companies made biggest profit the past year ever by sucking the last dollar and hope
from the people. The oil company sells us the oil they bought six months or more ago at highest price they can get and no-one cares..
Where are you Mr. President?
“Was the fight already fixed.”
We have a rich man president?
Everybody knows.
House representatives. 435 men and woman.
I saw your budget.
1.1 billion for food and office.
2.3 million per representative to live on.
How many people have nothing in your states?
How many people are homeless?
Are the schools teaching the future of the USA properly?
Do you walk your streets and see the pain?
No equality in the USA yet.
Babies being born in the poor cities.
With one foot in the grave at the beginning.
Wars are being fought.
No-one knows why we are fighting anymore?
Contractors got 500 billion dollars and cost of war over a trillion.
The rich man knows why.
Poor man born to serve at eighteen.
Hell of a world!
When going to war is better then to swim in the waste and shit.
Senate.
I won’t waste words on them.
I hear “here or there of them.”
A group of useless people serving their needs.
I pray
I pray to the sky, the water and the earth.
Sent wisdom to the men in-charge.
Please insure all children have food in their belly.
Please lord of life and earth.
Insure all children have a warm bed to sleep in.
Please lord.
Give opportunity and strength to the people in need.
We need a miracle.
War and hate is controlling my world.
Please sent some Angels of love and peace to assist.
We could use them today.
Thank you
I awoke with fear.
I fear for tomorrow.
What will our children have left?
What have we done?
I hated my father for doing nothing.
Now am I any better?
I believe I did less.
Will my children despise me for doing nothing.
It is time to yell.
Write to the leaders. All of them.
Demonstrate in the streets.
A desperate man will act with violence to create change.
Poor man will pay for the greed of the rich man controlling the USA.
Everybody knows.
Does anyone care?
Coyote

Very interesting factually John. It is very disturbing. I live in The UK. I believe in love, peace, compassion and understanding. I write poetry to get that message across. I also try and help out in the local community, particularly with regards to mental health. Also I read poetry in the community in inaccessible places.
I love some of the lines in your peace and the verses at the end are very powerful.
“Babies born in poor cities with one foot in the grave……..”
“Hell of a world when going to war is better than swimming in waste and shit”
Respect from…
Jules

Thank you Jules. I was another poor kids who joined the Army in 1976. World hadn’t change much. Little options for a lot of kids. Military life or hard life?

Very powerful. The best type of leaders are leaders who become servants to those that are subject to them. America is turning upside down. This president we have now (this is my opinion) I feel is only there for fame and fortune. He doesn’t seem to really care. A house divided can not stand, (A bit of wisdom from the good book.)

Oh, this touches my heart that breaks at the sad repeat of history! Have we learned nothing at all? I watched the morning news and was catapulted back to 1968. The more things change . . .

Paradigms do not shift unless there is violence. I dont agree with the statement personally but as a student of history it is true.

You are correct. Few changes had been made without violence. Thank you for reading and the comment.

Amen, brother. I woke this morning at four o’clock and could think only of the people suffering across our planet. May the gods help us all.

A sorry state of affairs, but could this occur near you. Everyone needs to be listened to and understood. Peace is always a best alternative and so is understanding the needs of others.

The House is resisting the president’s attempts on every front, the republicans would eliminate the entitlement programs altogether,
should we elect A republican president, this may indeed come to pass. I am all for peaceful demonstration, but burning down one’s own city, looting and destroying your neighbors livelihood is the work of thugs and criminals. The police must be held accountable, they are not above the law.
A thoughtful and moving post John, I love the music of Leonard Cohen.

Burning down your city. No logic in these actions. I agree need new President and leaders in Washington. Passed least bills than any other Senate and Congress. Getting paid to do nothing. I hope for a strong leader who pay attention to the USA, not the world. Thank you for reading and the comment.

I care! So many good words in this poem that i cannot begin to quote them all but this is the truth! I see none of those politicans ever being hungry, with pain in their backs because of hardwork, being broke without clothes and shoes for winter or summer , they have it all, but ignore good people who suffer, kids who are getting sick of poverty and bullied at school because their parents couldn’t afford them new pants, sneakers or a gadget. It sickens me but i also know that few people of honour can change things and i do believe things can get better only if people start opening their eyes all ready!

I agree. 2.3 million for food and housing for every House representative. We must be foolish?

I agree and you are correct. However, I have never been in a position in which some of the residents of Baltimore are and therefore I can not honestly say what I would do.

I was a child living in downtown Detroit during the riots that burn down the city. Who won? Not the people. Detroit was dead for 40 years. Trying to come alive now. Burning down your cities and destroying businesses. Businesses are owned by people. Need peaceful alternatives. Been done often. South Africa and India didn’t burn down their country for change. Thank you for reading and the comment.

You are again correct and peaceful alternatives are always better than violent ones. But is it not even more important to listen to peoples discontent before the need to demonstrate is an option, whether it be peaceful or not.

I saw once a programe in the US about those people who were homeless and had nowhere else to go. It made me cry … Too many families being interview who had kids slept in the ir cars like not weeks or months – years … And there are two families who had to live in a wreck motel in one room together and each one kid had to eat one toast and one potato and half a glass of water because the parents have no enough income to feed any of them …
Gosh … Breaks my heart to see it …

A lot of poor in the USA. More than we know. 50 million on some form of welfare. I pray for better days.

I have many cousins married American, but thank God that they got the least a good life. But to see many of them are even more than just being poor simply un-imaginable to many. People always think to believe that the country like US is pleasantly rich when the actual fact is there are much poorer people there too.
