Nothing Is Right

A Poem by Olumegbon(Please stop by and read this outstanding writer. Real life story will break our hearts)

Just a bit of my perception

The hope and quick disappointment,
The joy of birth and tears of death,
The green feelings and withered love,
The smooth relationships and painful heartbreak,
The deep trust and sudden betrayal,
The sacrifices and efforts that vanishes in vain,
The lies told to put bread on the table,
Would that be a sin?
Or a means of survival?
The ones we deceived just to look righteous,
Scared of their response to our flaws,
The self-guilt it conceived in us,
A burden we carry forever,
The hard-work and daily stress in the pursuit of vanity,
Nothing is right,
How do you feel when you take a life?
Lie to a brother?
Steal from a friend?
Hurt a lover?
Disappoint a mother?
Betray a partner?
Deceive a congregation?
Loot from a nation?
But we don’t feel, we just do it,
Concerned only about our welfare,
Even the flesh betrays the soul sometimes,
Maybe the afterlife holds the answers,
That’s a mystery we would never come back to tell,
I’m human so I may be wrong,
But my perspective still insists,
That in this life of ours,
Nothing is right

A Broken Heart

A Poem by Olumegbon

A broken heart, blinded path,
Swollen eye, a tear drop sly,
Flowers die, the memories hunt,
I wonder why I still always cry,
A broken heart, time to get high,
I rather drown with pride,
Than dine with a lie.

A broken heart, you stole my time,
You ripped my joy, made me your toy,
You went raw when you want,
First to break the barrier,
Went soft through the door,
A broken heart, I no longer laugh,
An heavy mind, my emotions refuse to hide.

A broken heart, healing starts,
Back on track, mind intact,
Tears stop, no longer drop,
Heart is strong, smiling doesn’t feel wrong,
A new day, the pain is gone
A broken heart, a new start.
