Unaccompanied and Unacceptable
A Poem by Poppy Ruth Silver
Written after learning the Conservative party voted against the UK accepting 3000 unaccompanied child refugees from Syria…
Like baggage
they are discarded
no-one’s problem
it seems
like a disease
they are turned away
no one cares
it seems
the Conservative party
deem them unfit
to be rescued and cared for
I shudder at the thought
that so many people
won’t or don’t speak out
about such genocide
it is not their fault they exist
in times of programmed
malicious decline
their hands are soiled
from the actions of elites
their hearts are broken
from the silence of humanity’s peak
like baggage
they are discarded
left to fight for themselves
as the world battles on regardless
like a parasite
they are shunned
no parent hears their call
nor witnesses their flow of tears
no future will they have
if we do not overcome our fears
wrong is wrong
money aside
the earth has become borders
lines drawn in bloody sand
wrong is wrong
money aside
this earth is not ours to claim
their tiny footsteps have a rightful place
yet their strength wanes with painful echoes
like a disease
they are turned away
if not today, when will we learn
this legacy will be our shame

Children are our future. Why don’t we give a shit about them? Poison them with lead-filled drinking water. As long as they don’t belong to a politician, it doesn’t seem to matter, does it?

Yes you are correct. Flint should of been fixed in one week. Many easy fixes. Water unit in Ohio can served a division of soldiers with potable water. This showed the concern of the men in Washington D.C. This is why a mad man like Trump can be President. All of us are tire of the dead weight in Washingon D.C.

Maybe it’s because places in Michigan…Detroit…Flint…are poverty stricken. Nobody cares about the poverty stricken. If it had happened in Beverly Hills or The Hamptons, you bet your sweet bippy that water would have been cleaned up in a flash.
We may be tired of the dead weight in Washington but we keep putting more there.

And still, children will continue to be bombarded, irrespective of the fact that they are innocent, not knowing a single thing about what war is. This world can never bring justice to the unfortunate children…

The poor, women and the children pay for the hate and the greed of hateful and greedy men. I pray there is karma. Men and women who forgot the needy, homeless and people forgotten by war. One day taste hunger, no home and desperate times.

Who is to be blamed? I wonder! I guess it’s a chain of evil that is being passed on through years of hatred that is brewing up in the hearts of humanity.
