Memorial day poetry-Ain’t no f-good war
Ain’t no fucking good war.
A Poem by Coyote Poetry
“Can’t allow the hate and fear to overcome us. World been the same for a long time. Must dance and love. Never know when it is time to go.)
Old WW2 Vet sat alone.
He raised his glass to the sky.
He looked at an empty seat.
“To the good war my friend.”
He drinks his shot of whiskey.
“Whisper ain’t no fucking good war. ”
He put his face into his hands.
Father had his ribbons and awards over the fireplace from the Korea war.
We watched war movies together.
He was the hero who always saved me.
On the weekend he would drink his rum.
Late at night I would sit with him.
He would talk to dead buddies left in the Korean dirt.
He would tell me.
“No war is worth a shit.”
Old Vietnam Vet was dying.
The agent orange had made him 110 pounds.
The VA won’t see him anymore.
The VA told him nothing they can do.
I sat with him and listen.
He told me he volunteers and was proud.
He thought he was doing the right thing.
He looks me in the eyes and whisper “All my friends are dead.
I will see them soon.”
“What will I tell them?
Did the War have any reason?
Was it just a fucking grave filled with hate?”
I try to put myself in the places where living another day is your goal.
Being hungry and needing medical care.
Watching their world fall apart around them.
I go to graves of good friends.
They died in Iraq for the hatred of the Bush’s years.
I whisper “fuck these wars.”
Coyote
I’m amazed, I must say. Seldom do I encounter a blog that’s
both educative and engaging, and let me tell you, you’ve hit the nail on the head.
The problem is something which not enough men and women are speaking intelligently about.
I’m very happy that I found this in my hunt for something relating to this. https://theronsteiner31.wordpress.com/2016/12/29/get-the-scoop-on-car-games-before-youre-too-late/

Old soldiers do not love war. I stand by old friends graves from old wars and I try to understand why? War had no winners. Thank you for reading and the comment. We must write from our heart and our experiences.

Maybe I’m thinking black-and-white but enviably what draws human beings together is war, sex, and art. Finally, compassion. Why? People need people.
I don’t know if I’m making any sense, sometimes I ramble so I apologizes if that’s what it is coming across.

Somethings we can’t understand. I’m old and I see the madness in our world. I believe every life is important. I pray daily for peace, so every child can have a fair chance.

I totally understand you. Some assholes just want chaos, sad fact. But you have people in this world that want peace & justice. I sleep a little better knowing that. So thank you for being one of them 🙂

This video gave me chills. I can’t justify any words to describe how incredibly stirring this was…so I won’t try.

John, on this day I salute thee and others like you but note those pretenders who sent you to wars under false pretenses.
Heart rendering poem.

Thank you. It is sad we send our youth to war. I liked the old wisdom. If old men want war. Let the old men fight the wars.

You know, Saint Augustine came up with the doctrine of “Just War,” that is, wars that are justifiable. He was impelled to do this because, despite the dictates of Jesus, “Turn the other cheek, etc.”after the collapse of the Roman Empire in the West, European countries were being threatened by pagan aggressors, Vandals, Goths, Huns and so on. His basic premise was that in order to preserve and protect the “one true religion,” Christians should arm themselves and repel these pagans. Fast forward seventeen centuries: we are still being led to believe that we are justified in deploying drones, holding others in captivity without the due process that our Constitution guarantees, and spending hundreds of billions on “national defense.” Let’s take a minute to be honest now. The vast majority of these tax dollars are being funneled into the hands of a few war profiteers. Through a propaganda campaign that fosters fear, the American people acquiesce to this misdirection of funds- funds that should be invested in repairing our crumbling infrastructure, providing universal healthcare, housing for the poor and educational opportunities to all who are worthy. Just like the Roman Empire, the U.S.A. will not fall to an outside threat, rather it will implode because of a dire misdirection of priorities. Please forgive my rant, but these are issues that I feel passionately about. It saddens me that so many of our young people are being maimed and killed in order to fill the pockets of a few greedy individuals who have no sense of patriotism or love of country.

I agree. This is another topic. I saw the WW2 war graveyards. 40,000 men graves who die for freedom . War had no winners. But old wise saying. If you do nothing and the world fall apart. Are you part of the problem or accepting the world as is.
