The sweet surrender-a re-write
Sweet surrender
A Poem by Coyote Poetry
We must allow old wounds to heal and open new doors.
Sweet surrender
Love in the lost and found box, leave us standing alone and afraid.
We are stripped of hope and promises become meaningless.
Some of us will seek shelter in the quiet of the night. Trying to untangle memories and
we will reflect on faces and places missed and needed.
The hidden places and faces dances in our head. We wish for
kisses, held tightly and never to be released.
We need sweet surrender. To be naked of fear and to be intoxicated with the glory of love.
Many kinds of love.
We must open new doors and close the old one’s.
Kind friend and lover lead me slowly into the slow dance and
the long dance. Where lover’s break us down and open us up.
They look into our lost and found and search for things that can be saved.
Please whisper sweet words that daunt my need to love and make me anticipate new and outrageous love. Please hold me, squeeze me and love me till the morning light. Make me beg for more.
Broken glass promises are permanent scars. We must stop the bleeding
and allow the wound to heal.
All wounds will heal with time.
Even the broke in heart must surrender to love.
