Midnight Woman

Please read and enjoy the work of a talented writer.

a tangled mind among roses

She wondered how his face appeared
in the dawn of morn’s first light
To her this sight remained unseen
for their love belonged to the night
Did the blueness of his bedroom eyes
match the color of the daytime sky
Of this she could only ponder
and the thought just made her sigh
She was his midnight woman
the sun never touched her face
And if she wished to keep him close
she knew that darkness was her place
So she never yearned for sunshine
the blackness was her friend
She could remain his midnight woman
if the nighttime would never end
