proceeded not

as winter blew

winds were colder

struck me blind

as splinters stabbed

inside my mind

afraid to climb

to sate desire

of inner child

by all good things

not meant to last

with leery mind

my discontent

propelled me forth

on triumph bent

to fated solace own
