Silent Silhouettes

Gentle and wonderful words shared.

Laura Denise

Between palms and pines,

blinding rays get eclipsed by clouds,

and in those moments,

it is difficult to tell

dawn from dusk,

sun from moon,

and all shades of green fade

to silhouette,

keeping form

but now colorless,

making me even more

awe-attuned.

It must be the essence,

stripped,

that is the source

of such pure goodness

able in the absence

of all of the other distractions

to be so obvious.

Beneath and behind it all

lie truths:

all souls

equally beautiful.
