2. I am November

Amazing poetry shared by a talented writer.

choices in error

The scars
of sunburn

left rivulets

through darkened hours
and rusted flesh.

I wear the rain like a second skin, dripping over my fingertips and clinging to my thighs. If you ever held my heart you would know it tastes of battle, bitten lips and reckless devotion. I’ve never learned to let go of anything I’ve ever loved.

Today is reckless, I am today.

Some things never change but I’m not some things. I am the silk and shimmer of the street lamps on a foggy moonlit night and you won’t recognize me at dawn. I am the magic under your delicate tongue and the way a new language fits your chewed lips.

I am November
