Lê Vĩnh Tài | love, tends to crawl its way into the stomach (233)

Outstanding poetry shared.

By Lê Vĩnh Tài, translation by Nguyễn Thị Phương Trâm

tends to crawl its way into the stomach

it craves the flesh

hence, the complications

it enjoys leaving its mark on every victim

thus so many are left rolling on the ground

steaming, heaving on the very spot(they’ve dropped)

not despicable

it only adds

a few more

to mother’s face

it, I meant you

so very

afraid, an institution

a flame

you, learning the etiquette(how to behave)

it: a loaf of bread, the silence, the chairman, a nemesis, the summit

sometimes makes you a little uncomfortable

since so much does not make sense to you

it makes circles around you

and you’re pregnant

gave birth, to this day

you’re still aching, and afraid

you realised

to love or not to love

you break whichever way

tình yêu
