The waltz…
The Waltz
A Poem by Coyote Poetry
The ocean and love create emotions and passion that stay with us forever.
The waltz …
We were doing a waltz upon the quiet beach.
The waves were the orchestra and
the wind was whispering a love song.
I tossed you into a twirl and
I brought her back to me.
By the light of the moon.
Two lovers danced the movement of freedom
and celebrating being alive.
We come back to the ocean after each journey.
The ocean keeps our secrets.
The dancing waves are always waiting.
You was as beautiful as when I first saw you at the poetry reading in 1994
and I held her by the sea, like you were my last breath.
We were two shadows upon a naked beach.
Doing the dance of hope and freedom.
The cold of winter is surrounding us.
We warm each other with laughter and dancing.
Two friends, lovers and travelers who come to celebrate being alive.
Peace for a moment for two people who love the road.
We find each other at the end of our journeys.
Two wanderers in search of peace.
I love you my beautiful Beatrice

I saw her last in 1995. She was from Florence visiting California. We got together twice. Her sister was my best friend wife when I was in the Army. She was a kindred spirit who loved to roam. Thank you John for reading and the comment.

She was a kind and sweet lady. It is cool. If you can find kindred spirit. I had other soldiers too who were kindred spirits. We roamed highway one every weekend. Good to be young and no responsibility except car payment and insurance.

You are most deservedly welcome
Indeed the sea and good company, especially my own on a solitary stroll are my idea of Utopia.
Go well treasured friend

I agree. When I was station in California. I would walk alone every Saturday and Sunday from Fort Ord to Monterey at 5 am. A six mile walk. I found many cool items on the beach. Nice to be alone with the sea.
