I wish for a fight sometimes

so I can hold your hand

hold you for the last time


I want to kiss you, call out your name

tell you everything will be fine

even when the world around us is crumbling

we will survive


I will listen to all your fears

hold all the tears

hold you for the last time



that summer long ago

the hunger ogled at you drooling

it patiently watched you holding your child

stood by your bed when you’re not around

grazed your shoulder while you were kneeling in prayer

on knobbly knees, the unsteady footsteps


the hunger cold(heartless)

by your breath shivering


your face darkened 


arms outstretched an expanding wilderness

to thereafter entered death




you wrote on the walls
