her breath
I remember
it felt like
the sunset
it felt like
the moon
and that’s why it flew
so close to the ground
just like
the recently imported
shoulder rocket launcher
hence when she’s hurting
it’s the light falling
her head
it’s not like the sun
or them
planting flowers
on the graves

one way you may cease to breath
allow the air to liberally
move around
a cold night under a blanket of bombs
tick-tock the sound of the clock over head, the cat
scratching at the door
for the last time before it was too late
knowing I was waiting, hence
she had to take off
her uniform
the thoughts made her
a little uncomfortable
she whispered into my ear:
